Abstract
CFTR 3D-Structure Consortium is a research consortium of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The CF Foundation is the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and nearly every CF-specific drug available today was made possible with their financial support. The CF Foundation supports a wide range of innovative research programs to discover and develop new and effective CF therapies. By harnessing the best minds in science and medicine, the Foundation has made tremendous progress in understanding and treating the disease, and they continue to pursue every opportunity that could help people with CF live longer and healthier lives.
Mission
Consortium members work together to expand knowledge of the structure, the energetics and the mechanism of CFTR function. The Consortium's goals are to:
Obtain high-quality protein reagents for full-length CFTR and CFTR structural domains
Characterize the physicochemical properties of CFTR and CFTR structural domains
Obtain high-resolution 3D-structures of interactions between structural domains of CFTR
Obtain high-resolution 3D-structures of the full length CFTR protein
Obtain knowledge of the binding location and energetic/folding consequences of CFTR modulators on CFTR or CFTR domains

Structure & Governance
Members of the Board of Trustees (of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation) hold a legal and fiduciary responsibility for the operations of the Foundation.
Their Board of Trustees is a diverse group of 16 independent members plus the CEO, who bring a variety of experiences and expertise to the governance of the CF Foundation.
Financing
The CF Foundation is a donor-funded, 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is fully accredited by the Better Business Bureau's (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance program.
