Abstract
The EuroFlow Consortium consists of 19 diagnostic research groups and one associated small to medium-sized enterprise (SME), which are regarded as experts in the fields of flow cytometric and molecular diagnostics. Together the 20 participants have sufficient complementarity and congruence to cover all aspects of development, standardization, and validation of highly sensitive tests for diagnosis and follow-up.
Mission
The main objective of the EuroFlow Consortium is the development and standardization of fast, accurate, and highly sensitive flow cytometric tests for diagnosis and prognostic (sub)classification of hematological malignancies as well as for evaluation of treatment effectiveness during follow-up. This includes the introduction of novel flow cytometric methods for replacing several types of molecular techniques (particularly polymerase chain reaction–based detection of fusion genes and oncogenes).
EuroFlow is a division of ESLHO (European Scientific foundation for Laboratory HematoOncology). Other divisions of ESLHO are EuroClonality (www.euroclonality.org) and EuroMRD (www.euromrd.org). General information about ESLHO can be found on the ESLHO website (www.eslho.org)
ESLHO is an official European Hematology Association (EHA) Scientific Working Group (SWG). SWGs seek to initiate and create scientific networks that serve under the EHA umbrella. At the annual EHA Congress, ESLHO presents its innovations in special EHA-SWG sessions.
